Any advice on night sweats

Posted in Group:

After blood tests, My doctor says i am not in menopause, pre or anything...BUT I have mood swings, irregular periods, hot flashes and wake up soaking wet. COME on, really. Can anyone recommend anything to help., I can deal with everything but the mood swings and night sweats. I hate changing my clothes 2-3 times a night AND I only sleep about 5 hours a night because of it.

Hi Photodlh, did you doctor give any insight as to what's causing your night sweats and mood swings?

Sending you many positive vibes and wishing you all of the best.

You may be in "perimenopause" which can last a while before the actual menopause. When I went through that I drank soy-milk, took calcium. I also ate the toasted edamame. It seemed to help. Also an OTC med called Estrovan. That really helped.

Hugs,

Lily

Hi photodlh,
There is a product called "mendapause". It has worked wonders for me with mood swings and night sweats. I got the same story every time I went to the doctor. Go to Amazon.com, you will not regret it! Good luck!

I Believe Mendapause may have Black Cohosh in it. I am in menopause and that is what I am taking now. I don't have as severe a case as you are describing but the night sweats were a problem for me and some hot flashes are occuring and these the black cohosh is helping. Hope this helps.

I've been taking max strength Estroven for several years but the night sweats are back and in full force! I have an appt with the GYN next week. I hope she can help me. Even tho I sleep with a fan blowing directly on me at night and I still wake up with my face and neck sweating profusely. I had to have a hysterectomy at 27 because I had cervical cancer but I still have my ovaries. I hope we all get some help for this. I'm also more easily aggravated lately but that could just be the stress of getting ready for last weekend's family reunion. However, the reunion is over but not the bitchiness that comes and goes!

hugs, Angie

What's really helping me with my flushes is a gel called Chillicious by Temple Spa. It doesn't help with the not knowing but it might help you get through the night. I use it mainly when I am in meetings and feel a flush coming on. A little bit on the back of my neck feels great.
