How to get your grove back in post menopause

Posted in Group:

I I am new to this group, and i am really looking forward to networking and share with another woman who are going through menopause. It is my hope that together this stage of life can be a little easier to handle by learning and sharing with one another, so here goes.

I have been in post menopause for sometime now; I really wish someone had told me what these years was going to be like, don't get me wrong, I really like not having to deal with a monthly flow, but the mood swings and personal summers and all the stress one feels I really could do without. Now at the age of 51, I am going to school getting the degrees I should have gotten years earlier, but didn't because of choices made. added to my stress is the fact that I am feeling sad by the fact that my kids are all grown and really don't need me to be hands on any more. I have grand children four all within the last two years, yet I really don't want to transfer my mom feels to them because I know I really need to find a way to get me together. I have a wonder man in my life, that is really trying to understand what I am going through, but how can I as him to understand when I don't. If anyone out there has any information on how to get your Grove back while in post, menopause please share.

Each change in our lives brings different adjustments. It is what it is, the best thing is to accept that this will pass, therefore it is a temporary situation.I feel like we have to deal with it the best we can, with time you will feel better and better. Wishing you health and happiness. God bless you.

Hi pclark, thank you for sharing. I'm almost 55 and feel very much the same way you do. But be encouraged that you are getting your degree. It seems that focusing on these outside things help a little. You have made a positive decision for yourself. I'm just plain lost, and as much as people remind me there's nothing we can do about the past, I can't get past beating myself up for all the stupid choices I made. What's worse is that I can't get interested in anything. Except Scottish terriers and snow skiing. For community service, i take my 90 YO friend to get her groceries, but thats about it. I can pay my bills without working an outside job, and I realize a lot of people would covet my position, although im very grateful, I can't get past this indecisiveness and sense that I should be doing more.
